You could argue that every day of the year should be “Woman’s Health and Wellness Day,” and you’d be exactly right. We women generally spend so much time taking care of the people around us, it isn’t unusual (okay, it’s actually incredibly common) for us to completely forget to take care of ourselves. And that fact is worth more than just the oh-well, shoulder-shrug dismissal we usually give it. Because if we don’t fight to make time on our calendars to keep ourselves healthy, the research shows that both our physical and mental happiness will suffer. And that effects not just us, but (for same reason as above) everyone around us.
So to remind ladies all over the country to kick-start the caretaking of their own health through awareness and regular physical activity, we’re joining the estimated 50,000+ women across the country who are celebrating the nation’s largest women’s health promotion event. It’s taking place next week on Wednesday, September 30th.
More than 500 local organizations throughout the U.S. will host women’s health and fitness events at hospitals, health clubs, park and recreation districts, local health organizations, schools, retirement communities, houses of worship, senior centers, and other community locations.
For our part, at G Spa, we’re doing our own special kind of celebration. We’ll be holding complimentary yoga classes, fresh fruit, and infused water throughout the spa, and offering a special price ($140) on Thai Massages (normally $165).
So call us before next Wednesday at 860-312-4772 to schedule a massage, and to find out more about the yoga classes and about the day’s event itself. Even if you can’t make it into the spa, we urge you to still make a point to do some activity that prioritizes your own health. We hope you’ll take time to join us in celebrating you!
