Here it comes: Hermès 2.0. The now-extra-snazzy Back Bay locale quietly re-opened its doors this past Friday, July 28th, eliciting gasps from those who knew enough to swoop in and witness the second floor that’s been added to the preexisting space.
Some of our favorite clients at Grettaluxe have already been cooing over the results of the redo, and the implications of it for the brand and the city:
“I think the expansion of the space—from one floor to two—speaks to the longevity of the brand,” Wellesley’s Alicia Talanian told us. “It’s a company that’s still largely family owned, with a dedication to hand craftsmanship.” “And it fits with Boston’s sensibilities: quality, tradition, endurance. I admit that when I make a purchase from Hermès, I’m thinking about how it will eventually be passed down to my daughter. There aren’t many brands I can say that about.”
We at Grettaluxe couldn’t agree more. There’s no such thing as a quick purchase at Hermès, and that’s the way it should be. Each piece is created with painstaking care, and their sales team relays those stories to every customer—from the silk screens used to create their signature scarves to the incredible process they use to make the Kelly riding boots.
The kind of dedication to craftsmanship we see in those collections is also the kind we see echoed in our buys from exquisite lines like Chloe—check out the gorgeous, clean lines and the classic toggle and oversized collar details of this coat:
And the Hermès aesthetic pairs up just as perfectly with this sweet and simple yet meticulously cut origami sleeve pindot dress from Michael Kors:
We just got both of the above pieces into the store for fall, and can’t wait to start styling them with other brands like Hermès. In all of it, we see wit, historic references, constant attention to detail and quality, and shapes that are perfectly flattering and basically just perfect, period.
So here’s to an impeccable fall! Come visit us at the boutique at 94 Central Street to see everything we’re getting in for the new season, or drop us a line to book an appointment… or simply to get some solid styling advice. We’d love to hear from you!
